Ravages of Entropy

He feels the invisible razors

tear at his knee, he falls

mouth opens and body begins to shake

this is his new life;

he drives by, where he used to hike,

he paints and photographs his adventures

careful not to fall into the cavern of depression below

there are only so many days

only so many dreams, left undone

plans made, must be revised

not able to, ‘this’ year

maybe some other time,

some other parade,

in some other

spring.
